CCTV Installation for Corporate Offices: A Complete Planning Guide

A well-designed CCTV system deters theft, ensures employee safety, and provides critical evidence when incidents occur. This guide covers camera placement, storage requirements, and compliance considerations for Indian offices.

A corporate CCTV system serves three purposes: deterrence, detection, and evidence. A well-planned system achieves all three without creating blind spots, storage gaps, or compliance issues.

Camera placement is the most critical design decision. Entry and exit points, server rooms, cash handling areas, parking lots, and common areas are mandatory coverage zones. For a typical 10,000 sq ft office, expect 12–18 cameras for comprehensive coverage.

Storage requirements depend on resolution and retention period. For HD (1080p) cameras with 30-day retention, budget approximately 1TB of storage per 4 cameras. NVR (Network Video Recorder) systems with RAID storage are recommended for business-critical installations.

Indian data protection regulations require that CCTV footage be stored securely, access be restricted to authorised personnel, and employees be informed of surveillance. PrimeCare IFM handles all compliance documentation as part of our CCTV installation service.
